   Emperor Di Xin commits suicide

                    Georgia Conley, Head news women

The last king of the Shang Dynasty (Di Xin) committed suicide. The reason for him doing this was because his army was defeated by Wu of Zhou. It is said that his army had betrayed him by joining the army of Zhou. The battle that they were fighting was called " Battle of Muye". This was a very bloody battle for both armies. Since there was a sudden loss of an emperor the Shang Dynasty had to call upon Di Xin's son. His son was named Wu Geng and he ruled Shang as a vassal kingdom. Without Wu Geng being able to have had stepped up and became emperor due to the suicide of his father may have saved the Dynasty. If he had not taken control of the dynasty then it would not have lasted as long as it did.
